Gospel Choir Clinic

Hey Choir Members!

North and Southampton Reformed Church (my church in Churchville) is running a Gospel Choir Clinic on Sunday from 11-1230! Let me know if you can come, and also if you're able to bring some snacks/drinks/paper products to share.

It's a free event and it would be amazing for you to work with our clinician, Mr. Tyrone Dinkins. He's so much fun!

Let me know via facebook or email if you can make it.

Also, join the new facebook choir group if you haven't already! :)

Assignments for Principles 10/17/11

Assignments for Principles 10/17/11

1) Finish your journal entry/drawing about what your bedroom looks like. Describe your furniture, your belongings, the color of the walls, what’s on the floor, do you have windows, whose room is next to yours, sounds you can hear from your window in the street below, etc.

2) Write down for ACT II SCENE 4

Where you are EXITING to each time you run off stage. And why you’re exiting there (are you looking for someone? Did you think of a good place to hide? Etc.)

And

Where you’re coming from every time you ENTER the stage. And WHAT YOU WANT as you’re entering (did you see someone who you’re chasing, do you need to go to a different house? Etc.)

Sometimes you enter from the place you exited to, other times not. YOU decide. Use your imaginations to think of where you’ve been. Describe what rooms you’re going to and who you’re looking for in each one. I WLL BE COLLECTING THIS ENTRY/LIST.

Great work today everyone!!! :)

Updated Schedule

Hello Everyone!

The schedule below has been updated to reflect our plan of attack through the ENTIRE rehearsal period. Please note it is subject to change, and you are still expected to be available for every rehearsal date. Take special note of the FIRST DRESS REHEARSAL SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY 11/26 - this is Thanksgiving weekend, and the rehearsal is MANDATORY!! You will not be permitted to participate in the show if you miss any of the dress rehearsals.

Below are links to reference materials. Please download them at your leisure :)

Historical Reference - Greek & Roman Comedies

Song List - Tells which characters are in each song. You will need to know this to read the rehearsal schedule.

Scene Breakdown - Tells which characters are in each scene, and which page numbers we have designated for each scene. You will need this to read the rehearsal schedule. Please note: acts are listed using roman numerals, and scenes are listed using arabic numerals. For example, II:3 means Act 2, Scene 3.

As always, you may email me with any questions: shall(at)archwood(dot)org

Happy Singing!

Journal Assignment For Principles:

Journal Assignment For Principles:

From the characters you put a * next to on your list, answer the following questions:

How did you meet?
What do you like about this person?
What do you dislike about this person?
What is one important memory you have with this person?

Remember to make these answers have relevance to the script, but to use your imaginations to elaborate and make up a very vivid memory. ALSO remember for your initial list, just because you don’t interact with someone doesn’t mean you don’t have a relationship to them. You all live in the same town. Have you seen each other in passing? Have you overheard things from the house you live next to? Etc.

***Special note for Proteans and Prologus: Write about your impressions of the characters in the show. Your viewpoints on them (as opposed to memories). This will give you motivation for why you jump into the play at certain points.

***Special note for Miles: You are writing about your history in battle in detail. Battles you’ve won, who you fought against, injuries you sustained, men you lost, men you wish you lost, medals you've won, etc.

Let your imaginations fly!!
